Tom Cruise has tried his high co-head of the Val Kilmer weapons, who died earlier this week at the age of 65.
Appearing in Cinemacon in Las Vegas, Cruise led a crowd at the Colosseum theater at a moment of silence to “honor a dear friend, Val Kilmer”.
“I can’t tell you how much I admired his work, how much I thought of him as a human being and how grateful and honored I was when he joined Top Gun,” Cruise told Kilmer, who played his Ice Man rival in Top Gun in 1986.
Gun Top Gun Top: 2022: Maverick scored the latest role of the Kilmer film. Kilmer, also known for his roles playing Batman and Jim Morrison in the door, died Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
In Las Vegas, Cruise bowed his head at the Kavernoz Theater, which was full of film theater owners and others working in the industry.
“Thanks, Val – I wish you well on your next trip,” Cruise said afterwards.
Cruise was talking during the Paramount Pictures presentation in Cinemacon. He also showed a humiliating trailer of the mission: Impossible – The Final Reconing, which will be released later this year, and honored the film director Christopher McQuarrie, who was named Cinemacon’s year director.
The trailer showed Cruise, who is famous for making his stunts, in a series of scenes filled with action – in fighter planes, in explosions and wings walking on a vintage plane.
While Hollywood made tribute to Kilmer, Cruise had been one of the few stars waiting to publicly comment on the actor’s death.
The star has been loud for how much he liked to work with Kilmer. He said in Jimmy Kimmel Live! That he called by placing Top Gun: Maverick.
“I was crying, I was crying. I was excited,” Cruise said in the show to work with Kilmer. “He’s such a great actor. I love his work.”
Kilmer’s family told us media that he died after going down with a pneumonia. The actor had two tracheotomies while undergoing treatment for throat cancer.
The procedures forced him to use a voice box to speak, and in film 2022, he prints on a screen to communicate with the character of Cruise. At the end of their scene together, Kilmer’s Iceman gets up from his chair and says to Cruise: “Marina needs Maverick.”
Both hug and then Iceman hits fun, asking the sailing on who is the best pilot.
